Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. on the Passing of President George H.W. Bush

President George H.W. Bush was a true patriot, a good man, who served at several levels of our government always with distinction and dignity.

The nation is better because of his service from the skies over the Pacific as the Navy’s youngest pilot in WWII to the White House as the 41st President of the United States.

He now joins his beloved wife, Barbara, whom he married 73 years ago. He was one of the great contributors to our nation – soldier, servant, president, a thousand points of light, representing a thousand ways people could serve and share.

President Bush earned the respect and admiration of Americans everywhere.

May his soul rest in peace.
