#WhatsYourDream Campaign

CHICAGO, Aug. 28, 2013 -- Rev. Jesse L. Jackson and the  Emerging Leaders Commission (ELC) are collaborating with MTV ACT to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March On Washington (MoW) and Dr. Martin Luther King’s historic “I Have A Dream” speech.

Rev. Jackson pens an open letter to MTV’s audience explaining the historical context of the MoW and Dr. King’s speech before encouraging young adults to continue the fight for Dr. King’s dream by pledging to vote and utilizing their voting power.

The online campaign, entitled #WhatsYourDream, is meant to inspire youth to identify their own personal variation of the dream and show their commitment to become more civically engaged by signing the pledge on the website www.YourDreamYourPledge.com.

Joining Rev. Jesse Jackson, ELC and MTV Act are various celebrities, influencers and social activists around the nation, each highlighting his or her own dream along with the hashtag #WhatsYourDream and sharing them on their Twitter, Instagram or other social media networks.
