The US civil rights champion, Rev. Jesse Jackson praised on Monday the wisdom and openness of HM King Mohammed VI who chose to consolidate democracy in the context of the +Arab Spring+.
Unlike in other countries that lived violent revolutions, the King of Morocco chose the other way, he said after a meeting with minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Saad Dine Otmani.
Rev. Jackson, currently on a visit to Morocco also considered that the settlement of the Sahara issue goes through a fair and transparent negotiations process supervised by the United Nations, stressing that Algeria and Morocco are able to find a common ground, owing to the shared history and deep roots existing between them.
Rev. Jesse Jackson also met on the same day with speaker of the House of representatives Karim Ghellab, who briefed him on the specificity of reforms conducted in Morocco in various fields, under the leadership of the Sovereign.
