Obama, Party Leaders Meet on Sequester

WASHINGTON—Congressional leaders met at the White House Friday for a meeting with President Barack Obama on the $85 billion in automatic spending cuts set to go into effect Friday, but little was expected from the gathering that would avert the cuts.

"There will be no last-minute, back-room deal and absolutely no agreement to increase taxes," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) said in a statement Friday morning prior to the meeting.
